State-Of-The-Art Critical Systems

Critical systems are those systems that have a direct and potentially devastating impact on valuable assets. At OnRamp, we take the uninterrupted functionality of our data center very seriously; as a result, our critical systems are cutting edge. Our systems meet every standard of availability, reliability, safety and security. As a result, you can benefit from our data center solutions without fear of losing valuable data or experiencing costly downtime. But what do these components really do?

Uninterruptible Power Supply

OnRamp’s uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is based on multiple double conversion online systems. Because of the direction and flow of the power supply, this system prevents an interruption in power when power is transferred from one source to the next. So, in the event that one source of power fails, the data center (and therefore the client) experiences no interruption of service. We also have multiple diesel generators on hand as part of our disaster recovery plan.

Lighting and Surge Protection Systems

Surge suppression units protect equipment from spikes in electricity. Surge suppression units are a must, and Leibert offers the best in the industry. OnRamp uses multiple Leibert surge suppression units to ensure the safety of all our equipment. In addition, we have UL Listed, Bonded Lightning Protection Systems designed to re-route lightning away from pipes and electrical systems, essentially giving it a safe place to go.

Diversified Cooling Systems

Data center equipment, like any technology equipment, can easily become overheated during continuous use, making the equipment less effective and potentially causing permanent damage. Keeping equipment cool is vital. OnRamp uses three separate brands of condensers to provide the best possible protection from overheating.

Fire Suppression Systems

While fire-protection systems are critical for any building, wet systems, which store water in the sprinkler pipes, can be accidentally triggered or broken, causing damage to equipment. Our pre-action fire suppression offers the same level of fire protection, but floods the pipes after a sensor is triggered, reducing the likelihood of costly mishaps.

Continued Connectivity

Internet backbones are the primary network through which information flows. We use Multiple Carrier Internet Backbones, selecting only the premium, Tier 1 providers. We apply this diverse approach to our routers, using two different types of routers, to get the best of both worlds from our routing systems. This, along with multiple fiber entry points, ensures high-quality, uninterrupted connectivity.

These cutting-edge critical systems are only one component of our state-of-the-art data center. For more information, please visit our data center specifications page or our FAQ page.
